1st Customer Review : Great Turkish tea pot - perfect to make tea for two or three
If you like several cups of tea in the morning - as I do - this kind of double-boiler (Turkish) tea pot is really great, allowing you to have several cups of hot tea while you're making breakfast, or whatever.
Aficionados of Turkish tea, put water in the bottom pot to boil, then pour it over the tea in the top pot, but because the bottom pot is larger, there is left over hot water in the bottom pot which acts as a double-boiler keeping the tea in the top hot. Also, Turks make their tea fairly strong, then use water from the bottom pot to water-down the strong tea to suit the taste of the drinker.
In case you care to know some of the background - in Turkey they used to drink coffee (Turkish coffee), but the famous Turkish leader "Ataturk," as a means of improving Turkish self-sufficiency, pushed Turkey away from coffee which had to be imported toward tea which could be grown locally. When I was in Turkey, all the Turks I met were tea drinkers.
