1st Customer Review : FIVE YEARS WITH A TECHNIVORM: My Technivorm Moccamaster Brews Correctly So My Coffee is As Good As it Gets.
I own the CDT model and have used mine for five years now. It is different from this only in appearance, and in only one function, an improvement...the new model, the CDGT, has a new cylindrical boiler housing with a styling nod, ribbed sections, my CDT is plain. My Brew Basket is different, you can adjust the brew flow, if you want that feature, other Technivorm models have it. The important difference is in the lid of the carafe. Instead of the old screw-on lid that may be securely shut, or quarter-turned to allow pouring, is now called the "Travel Lid" and all new machines come with that lid also.
THE NEW CARAFE LID: the CDGT's "Brew-Thru-Lid's" exposed upper surface abuts very close to the underside of the "Brew Basket". Minimal air space, minimal heat loss. Plus, you can brew through the lid directly into the carafe instead of into the large opening of the carafe itself...keeps the heat in! 2nd Customer Review : Moccamaster CDGT
After much research I decided to purchase this CDGT. I have the Breville stainless Keurig version but needed a coffee machine to make a pot of coffee. This works as described, does get the water hot and makes a quick 10 cup pot. Tips after having for a year: 1. Run some water through first to warm up the carafe and also warms up the machine. 2. Use the paper filters as they seem to work better and not get any grit at the bottom of your cup.
I love coffee and have had many people over, seems to taste better (or may be because I am justifying the $300. It has to be better than my $50 old Mr Coffee one). I must say it is very simple and easy to clean. The other cheap machines have the reserves at the bottom and get dirty after a few years. This machine has everything right at the top and easy to see what needs to be cleaned. The stainless carafe also keeps the coffee hot enough for when you have company and even long enough for the morning.

3rd Customer Review : Love my Technivorm!
Having used this coffeemaker for almost three years I can attest to its durability.
What I like most about it: I can set it up and turn it on and by the time I feed the dogs and walk out for the newspaper my coffee is ready and piping hot!
The BEST coffee maker I've ever owned and it makes the best-tasting coffee I've ever had from a home brewer.
